Valentine's Card

Ok, three posts in one night is a record for me!! This card was for my secret valentine at school on Friday when we were supposed to reveal.

The Card base was pink cardstock cut at 4 3/4 " x 6 3/4", and the hear paper is from K and Company Smitten stack cut at 4 1/2" x 6 1/2". Both pieces were inked with brown cat's eye ink. The cut on the front is from A Childs Year (one of my favorite carts!) cut at 4 inches in black with the shadow in pink.

The inside of the card is matted with pink cardstock inked in brown. The sentiment is from Stampabilities stamped in black. In the bottom corner the heart is called "Ornate Heart" and is from Stampabilities. It is stamped in Hollycock from Close to my Heart. The boy and girl is from the "Childhood Memories" from Close to My Heart and is stamped in black. I love how this stamp set coordinates with the A Child's Year cart! Thanks for looking and Happy Valentines Day!

Another Valentine Treat

This is another treat I made this week. I made one for my secret valentine at school, and another for my 3 year old's daycare provider. It is the cake slice box from Tie the Knot. I love this cart!! I cut the box out of brown cardstock at fit to page. The top was cut from paper from the Love Nest Stack from A Minds Eye. The flowers on top are glittered paper from A Minds Eye Laundry Line stack. I had a bunch left over from a centerpiece I had made awhile back from a baby shower. Got to love those bags of scraps and extra cuts when you're in a hurry!! I wrapped pink ribbon around the box and filled it with bliss chocolate. I love how easy and quick this box came together. It truly is an easy project that produces a big wow factor.

Once again, the photo was a quick one before heading out the door. Thanks for looking!!

Valentine's Treats

Life has been crazy!!! Work, church and two sick kids have not allowed me a lot of cricut time. I finally got the chance to play this week. The staff at my school drew names for secret valentine's. This is one of the treats I took this week. It turned out so cute I made another for my son's first grade teacher.
Sorry the photos aren't very good. I was taking a quick pic before heading out the door!

This one is the pillow box from the Easter 2010 cart. I think it was cut at 10 inches. I drug it out on Design Studio until it was the size I wanted. It has a cut out of an Easter Bunny on top, so I used the hide contour feature so it would not cut. I cut the box out of white cardstock and again out of the red valentine paper which is from the Paper Studio All Seasons stack. I trimmed the heart paper to just cover the top. (That's when I got the idea to make another one since I had the other half left!) The big heart on top was from Doodlecharms cut at 3 inches. I stamped it with a sentiment from Stampendous Changito clear valentine stamps. It says, "Sending you a big hug!" I cut another heart at 11/2 inches using the charm feature to make the tag with the to and from on it. I made one of these for my secret valentine at school and the one in the photo for my son's first grade teacher. I filled it with valentine M&Ms. Hope you enjoy!

Just Because card for Hubby!!

Well I'm amazed and proud!! I'm actually posting twice in one week!! I made this card last night for my husband. I actually could have saved it for Valentines day, but he surprised me yesterday by bringing home a new Martha Stewart punch!! So, I wanted to do something for him since he contributed to my "crapbooking" as he calls it. ;)

The card base is an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of black cardstock folded in half. I layered the front with a piece of red cut at 8 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches, then the red and black striped paper cut at 8 x 5 inches. I cut a piece of white carstock at 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches and embossed it with my new Queen of Hearts cuttlebug folder then inked it with black and red. Using my Indie Art cricut cartridge I cut out the dice at 1 3/4 inches in red foil paper with a white background and the word Lucky the same size out of red foil shadowed in black. On the inside I matted the card with a piece of white cut at 8 x5 inches inked in black and added another pair of dice cut the same size. I wrote "because I have you" on the inside.

I was really proud of this card because, as you all know, cards for guys are really tough! I hope you enjoy!!
